Final Thought at the Show: Supra Anyone?
Finally, I thought I would voice my opinion about the long-awaited 2020 Toyota Supra. Maybe I should have put some effort into seeking out the new Z4 so I could have a broad perspective… Then again, I will let these YouTube videos (below) help you decide if the criticisms of the new Supra are warranted. I will say this: Toyota engineers did put their input in the mechanical aspects of the engine and frame design. Then, due to weird manufacturing-protectionist “a la chicken tax” laws in Deutschland, they and BMW went their separate ways on their final designs of the Supra and Z4.
Yes.
Yes, they do share a lot of parts between them and the price tag starts around $50,000. Don’t be too shocked because a brand new 1996 Supra Turbo was roughly $50K in late 1995 money which is roughly eighty friggin’ thousand dollars in 2019 inflated dollars. Mass car manufacturing is a tough business I guess… Not trying to defend them or throw dirt, just inflation and arbitrary laws sucks.
