Updates: Where Have You Been?

So… I took a long hiatus from the last posting. Not that I wanted to, just got hung up in the minutia of being a start-up. I got a lot to mention that could be their own postings, but this a blog and the topics are kind of intertwined with each other. Here goes: the overall market (so far) and where Banneker Motoring is going (hopefully) in the coming months.

Overall Market

Unless you live underneath a rock or just don’t care at all about car culture in general, there has been a lot of new and interesting stuff going on.

Since I live in ‘Murica’, in particularly Texas, trucks are a big thing (pun intended). You can ‘Google’ Ranger this, Colorado that, F-something, ‘Rado-whatever, mountain-goat-hemi 15000, and macabre Gladiator to see what I’m talking about. Personally, I don’t like the idea of pick-up trucks being a replacement for any-sized sedans, but that’s where the selling trends have been going for a while and the “Big 3” domestics [not including Toyota, because they are still an import brand, right?] has doubled down on their efforts to produce more SUVs and trucks with Ford announcing that they not making any more “cars” for the US market with the exception of the Mustang, GT500, and Lincoln models. If you dig into some of Ford’s present and future vehicle lineups, most of them are based on a uni-framed car chassis’ anyways, so… yeah. It’s a car, but not a car. They’re just some sort of station wagon/minivan with the facade of a crossover. If you want to be more depressed about where some manufacturers are doing, Google the latest Mitsubishi lineup; then ask, “Why a 3-cylinder without forced-induction? How much? Really?” This is kind of why I started this venture: to bring some no-nonsense vehicles back to the market.
